Karen is currently starring in the NY Premiere of "Shooting Star," written by Steven Dietz and directed by Joe Brancato, which opened July 9 and continues through August 1 at The Penguin Rep Theatre (www.penguinrep.org) in Stony Point, NY. In the play, two college friends reunite unexpectedly in a snowed-in airport after 25 years. She is appearing opposite 4-time TONY nominee Gregg Edelman (INTO THE WOODS, 1776, ANNA KARENINA and CITY OF ANGELS). The New York Times said “Penguin Rep’s production of 'SHOOTING STAR', directed by Joe Brancato, arrives packaged with plenty of sharp observations, acerbic humor and a pair of irresistible actors. Elena is played by Karen Ziemba, who has made a specialty of spunky, likeable heroines and who knows how to bewitch an audience (even when she's not dancing). The play at Penguin Rep, 7 Cricketown Road, Stony Point, NY continues through August 1st. For more information call (845) 786-2873 or go to www.penguinrep.org
