Michael Aguirre and Sarah Norris of New Light Theatre Projects are the General Managers and Peter Petkovsek is Assistant to the Director.
Carol of Carroll Gardens, set in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, is a poignant comedy about a single, Baby Boomer curmudgeon, Carol Chapin, who is struggling with her health. She is helped along by Scotty, her lonely caregiver. Aided by an eccentric doctor, an ever-changing phlebotomist, a tolerant Olive Garden date, metaphysical portals, and a mysterious, unseen Oracle all delightfully voiced by Carol's well-informed house cats! This is a story about two people caught in a vortex about how to learn to love each other and themselves.
Ivan Faute of New Play Exchange raved, "This is a wonderfully theatrical play that takes an honest and profound but also humorous look at illness and the human relationships that are inextricably bound up with caregiving, growing up, and growing older. The play offers great roles for a variety of ages including a juicy one for an older female. It also offers a lot of possibilities for designers and directors to exercise their creativity."

The new musical will play Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre.
The stars of the 5th Avenue Theatre production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's Marie, Dancing Still met the press at their rehearsal studio on March 4. Directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman, the show was formerly titled Little Dancer upon its 2014 premiere at the Kennedy Center, in Washington, DC. The Seattle run takes place March 22-April 14.
Leading the company is Tiler Peck as Marie, returning to the role she originated in Washington. Also reprising their performances are Karen Ziemba as Martine Van Goethem, Jenny Powers as Antoinette Van Goethem, and Kyle Harris as Christian. New to the show are Terrence Mann as Edgar Degas, Louise Pitre as Adult Marie, Dee Hoty as Mary Cassat, Christopher Gurr as Corbeil and Degas Understudy, and Noelle Hogan as Charlotte Van Goethem.
The creative team includes Beowulf Boritt (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Kai Harada (sound design), Benjamin Pearcy (projection design), and Paul Huntley (hair and wig design).
Marie is described as follows: "In this era of groundbreaking artistry, a girl named Marie dreams of being the next star of the ballet. Despite the odds of her hardscrabble life, she scrimps, saves, and steals in pursuit of her ambitions. But when fate leads her to the studio of Impressionist Edgar Degas, she unknowingly steps into immortality — becoming the inspiration for his most famous sculpture ever: Little Dancer."

A pair of one-act comedies by George Bernard Shaw, The Fascinating Foundling and Augustus Does His Bit, are next on the list for Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw series. Under the leadership of artistic director David Staller, the readings will take place on April 25 at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre.
Written in 1909, The Fascinating Foundling brings two foundlings together, whether they like it or not. Augustus Does His Bit, written in 1916, pits a female spy against British male bureaucracy.
The company for the readings includes Malcolm Gets (Allegro), Ed Dixon (Anything Goes), Daniel Jenkins (Mary Poppins), and Karen Ziemba (Bullets Over Broadway).
Now celebrating its 11th year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays.
